How much is my injury worth?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions from our clients.  There are various factors that will determine that, so it is hard to answer that question without an explanation first.

Injury cases have value based on a number of different factors such as:
-how the accident happened
-the extent of damage to any property involved
-the type and extent of your injuries and medical treatment
-whether you sustained permanent injuries or significant scarring
-the amount of your past medical bills
-the expected amount of your future medical bills
-the lost wages you have incurred
-the future loss of earning capacity Past Medical Bills
-any inconsistencies in testimony, medical records and other issues which would allow the insurance company's lawyer to take away credibility from the injured party's case.

If all the required elements of an injury claim are met or proved, then the insurance adjuster will generally place the types of damages and injuries into a chart that will also factor in for consideration other types of demographic information such as age, sex and prior similar occurrences.  This insurance chart will then give the insurance adjuster a monetary range your injury claim is worth, and this range of value is largely based on valid social statistics and prior court rulings.  If you do not accept the value range, the insurance company will usually not budge, so you may have to try and pursue any higher amount by further legal action.  The insurance company has effectively automated the process.  They plug in all the data into a computer program and in return they are given a value range.  However, these insurance charts are not always correct.

Once our law firm has been able to determine and consider all the factors in a given injury claim, we are generally able to come up with at least a "range of value" for your injury claim.  However, even with all that information it is very difficult for Plaintiff's counsel to come up with an exact figure.
